Hi guys!

I was wondering... would it be at all possible for somebody to photocopy or lend me a copy of "Only You" or something similar (a capella) that you have in your folders? I'm in an a 4-person capella group at school and we wanted to do something fun and pretty for the spring concert. We'd like to start now, because we had a serious crunch time before the winter concert and it ended up notsogreat. So if you have anything fun or that you like (or have access to the music library and would be willing to let me borrow some), that'd be great. Thanks!

Name: Michele
Age: 16

Siblings and Ages of Said Siblings: 2 brothers (10 and 14) and a sister (7)

Were/are any of them in choir? Sarah wanted to be, but I don't think my mom would let her at this point

How many years have you been in choir, and in which ones? I was in ECGC for 6 years. 1 in Junior, 2 in Academy, 1 in Advanced, and 2 in Senior

Are you currently/have you ever been a TA? for which UGC? I was a TA for Milford my last two years of choir

Are you/have you ever been a student conductor? no... I was going to try to do it my senior year.

section leader? no.

lead chorister? no.

What part do you sing/have sung in past years? My first 2 years, I sang 2nd Soprano (but we don't talk about that. mmkay? ;D). Then I got switched to 1st Alto and my life began.

What's your favorite song we've done this year thus far? I loved Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day. And when Senior sang Time in a Bottle at that first concert in Edgerton Park. =)

What's your favorite choir song EVER? Hmm. Maybe A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square. Or In Remembrance. I tend to love a lot of the slow, pretty, melodic ones. And all the a capella stuff. And all the Bulgarian, Village Harmony-ish ones.

What's your favorite non-choir song? Oh man. Anything Broadway. Or Simon and Garfunkel stuff... Or.. um. I don't know. haha.

What's your favorite thing about choir? The amazing friends I made, the exposure to so many great choral pieces, the level of professionalism, being able to sing with so many talented people on a weekly basis, perfect unisons, having somewhere where I could be myself and know that everyone was also being themselves... the list goes on and on.

Were/are any of them in choir? awww I wish. That would be so cute. But they're athletes, not artists. Plus I would fight with one wayyyy too much.

How many years have you been in choir, and in which ones? 6th year. Been in the original UGC, UGC Milford/Allegra, and Advanced Academy

Are you currently/have you ever been a TA? for which UGC? I was invited tobe a UGC TA this year, but I couldn't work it in to my schedule.

Are you/have you ever been a student conductor? no

section leader? nope.

lead chorister? nope.

What part do you sing/have sung in past years? We didn't have official parts in UGC, but I was Sop. 2 my first year in ECGC, got moved to Sop. 1 the next year, and got put back on Sop. 2 this year, much to my dismay. But I'm over it now and see the merrits of being a soprano 2.

What's your favorite song we've done this year thus far? Um.... we really haven't done too much yet, it feels like. I enjoyed Candelight Carol and Tomorow Shall Be My Dancing Day a lot.

What's your favorite choir song EVER? Well I love all the belty ones... and I love Yesturday... yeah.

What's your favorite non-choir song? God, who could choose? Probably a song from Wicked or by my favorite broadway composer, Jason Robert Brown, or by my favorite band, Something Corporate/Jack's Mannequin or "Taylor the Latte Boy," or lots of other musical theater stuff, I told you I can't choose!!!

What's your favorite thing about choir? The people, the experiences, the quality of the music, the ablility to reach a good unison in varying levels of perfection... it's just good stuff.

What do you think the deal will be with the Holiday Pops dress rehersal? It looks like it stopped snowing, but I don't know how the roads are.

Probably a long shot, but a lot of you are in to musicals, so why not try?

I am trying to track down the sheet music to "Taylor the Latte Boy" for my musical theater class. It's on Kristin Chenoweth's latest solo album and it is also from a musical. If any of you have it or know someone who has it, I've been looking everywhere for it... I'm fairly desperate... Thanks in advance :)

ATTENTION ELM CITY MEMBERS!!

AD-BOOKING THIS WEEKEND!

I'm getting a group of people together to go ad-booking in Milford center this Saturday. We'd meet at Harrison's Hardware at 11 AM, sing for a while, an hour or so, then go somewhere in the center (there's Quizno's, Subway, a deli, a cafe, etc.) to get lunch and then we'd probably be done around 1 or 2 at the very latest. SO! If anyone is interested, please let me know, comment on my journal (xoemmy, or  IM me on AIM (x0emmy). I'll gladly give anyone my cell phone number if needed! Hope to see you Saturdayy!

I ended up taking high school chorus this year because there was nothing else durring my empty first period (yes, we're sooooooooo good hahaha hope you can tell that was dripping with sarcasm) and we're singing Diret Don (sorry bout the SP error). Anyway, I think Advanced and Senior sang that at the last fall festival, and I told the my chorus teacher I'd try to get a hold of the recording. Anybody get last year's festival CD and would be willing to lend me it so the class can hear what the pieces is supposed to sound like? If yes, reply back here and arrange to give it to me at rehersal tomorow. If you'd prefer, I'd take an upload by AIM or yousendit.com, but I only have one blank CD left, so if you would be willing to actually lend me your copy of the CD it would be a lot easier. Thanks in advance guys!

PS: Good job this weekend everyone! Who else thinks Sunday was just a little TOO crazy though?
